Developed a comprehensive system for managing users, inventories, supplies, and costs, significantly improving the laboratory's operational efficiency.
Significant Impact: The implementation of the system eliminated the reliance on Excel spreadsheets, improving data organization and security.
Reduced Operational Costs: By digitizing processes, the project achieved a notable reduction in paper usage and related expenses.
Centralized Management: The system enables comprehensive management of users, supplies, assets, and documents in a single platform.
Workflow Optimization: Intuitive interfaces were designed to enhance efficiency and minimize human errors.
Robust Security: Advanced user role management ensures controlled access to different sections of the system.
Guaranteed Scalability: The system was designed to accommodate future needs and additional modules.
This project not only enhanced the laboratory’s operational management but also represented a strategic advancement in the sustainability and digitalization of EPAM’s services, aligning with its mission and vision.
This project focused on designing and developing a comprehensive management system for the Specialized Water Treatment Laboratory of the Public Water Company of Manta (EPAM).
Faced with dependency on Excel spreadsheets and excessive paper usage, the need for a centralized system to manage multiple aspects of the laboratory—such as supplies, clients, assets, costs, and users—was identified.
The system's development followed the Scrum methodology, enabling quick feedback cycles and continuous deliveries.
Key implemented functionalities include:
User Management: A dedicated module was developed to manage user roles and define custom permissions, ensuring controlled and secure access to each area of the system.
Inventory: An advanced system for tracking chemical supplies was implemented, with features for detailed queries, report generation, and notifications about critical inventory levels.
Client Management: This module facilitates the detailed registration of clients and services provided, offering a complete history of interactions and private transactions.
Document Management: A central tool that organizes all critical documents, ensuring their backup and accessibility to prevent information loss.
Costs and Assets: Designed to precisely calculate and monitor operational costs while managing laboratory assets to optimize resource utilization.
The system was developed with modern technologies such as React for the frontend, TypeScript for static typing, Express for the backend, and PostgreSQL as the database. Additionally, Bootstrap was used for responsive design, along with advanced data security techniques.
During implementation, weekly meetings were held with laboratory representatives to ensure that the functionalities met the client’s specific requirements.
